Pressure calibrators

Different types of pressure calibrators and auxiliaries make it necessary to divide them in several groups of instruments.

Dead weight testers, often named piston gauges, are primary references, based on the law of pressure being equal to force divided by area. The force acting on a piston of known cross-section is balanced by calibrated weights. Such references exhibit the highest accuracy of pressure measurement and generation.

Portable digital pressure calibrators use strain-gauge transducers. Built-in microprocessor control enables the use of different engineering units and supports such functions as pressure switch and leak tests, measurement of pressure transducer/transmitter output signals, etc. Hand pumps are often used as pressure and vacuum sources.

Pressure controllers feature the same functions as digital calibrators as well as support an automatic pressure generation, making it possible to create a system for completely automated calibration of pressure instruments.

Manually operated controllers are used for precise pressure and vacuum generation in calibration and testing systems, including those based on dead weight testers and pressure controllers. Some of these devices are capable of generating output pressure exceeding the supply one by a factor of several dozens or even hundreds.

Pneumatic and hydraulic hand pumps are used as pressure sources in different calibration and testing systems, in particular within the scope of supply of portable digital calibrators.

Dead weight testers or piston gauges (PG7000, RK, PKII, T, R, DM)
Digital calibrators (APC, IPI)
Pressure controllers (PPC4, PPC3, PPCH, RPM4)
Manual controllers (MPC1, MPC1-D, GB-K, GPC1, OPG1)
Hand pumps (pneumatic, hydraulic)
